RLE’s first small group of participants came on board back in February. Just before the Covid-19 lockdown began, we were about to open up to allow more locals to join, but the situation meant that we temporarily put those plans on hold. It’s still early days, but the trading of clean, local energy in Raglan is now a fact!
We’re already a real, unique and proactive response to the regulatory, environmental and technological (and perhaps now too, community resilience) pressures facing the energy sector in Aotearoa New Zealand (and it’s all happening right here in Raglan!).
Check out this short writeup about Damon’s RLE experience so far too, who is one of our first participants.
Very soon we’ll be opening the doors again to allow more people to join the RLE community – keep an eye on our Facebook page and check out the website for more info. Getting more people on board will provide more local energy matching opportunities and therefore more to gain for everyone.
Also, we’ve got what we reckon is a pretty exciting lineup of virtual conversations coming up over the next few months that we’ll be hosting via Crowdcast, so be sure to sign up for those when the details are released via our Facebook page.
